A Wish List

In my next life, I am 5’11" and weigh 125 pounds.

My eyes are green. My hair black.

My lips naturally full — not fake like the Kardashians.

I will not have fat upper arms that resist exercise. I’ll be an athlete…maybe tennis, maybe a runner.

My voice will be the same as the one I have now. I am happy with my voice.

I won’t be as smart as I am in this life. A few less IQ points would be helpful…I won’t get caught up in politics and figuring shit out all the time. I’ll just live — not smart enough to always read the fine print.

I won’t be an artist, but instead, will thrive as a courtroom attorney looking to be a judge later in life.

My husband will be a successful novelist and entertain me with thoughtful stories and anecdotes.

I’ll have two children…3 years apart…one boy and one girl, when I am still in my 30s.

We will have enough money to be comfortable. Not rich, but comfortable. I want to be grateful, not greedy.

When the kids go off to college, we will tour the world for months at a time. There will be no covid, so we won’t be worried.

We will have sex at least 4 times a week.

We will cook elaborate dinners and have elaborate dinner parties with friends.

I’ll learn to scuba dive by the time I’m 25 and that will be a lifelong hobby.

I’ll have two Pomskies that we travel with.

We will be a close-knit family. Our children will enjoy being around us. We will do fun things.

I will be easy going…taking things in stride…I’ll be like Sully Sullenberger calmly landing the plane on the Hudson.

My breasts won’t pass the pencil test, so I never wear bras.

I’ll have shapely ankles.

I’ll read and study more history…world history as well as American history.

I won’t watch the cable news channels…ever.

I won’t be part of any organized religious group but will learn more about Buddhism and visit the Cambodian temples at Angor Wat every few years.

I will vacation in Figi also…sometimes with my husband, but sometimes alone.

I’ll live on a mountain cliff overlooking the ocean with waves crashing onto the rocks. The place will have 4 seasons and I’ll learn to ski well.

I’ll be a good chef.

I will be optimistic.

I will embrace my inner child and have fun…silly fun, like dressing up in costume.

I will like opera.

I will grow vegetables and have a beautiful flower garden.

I’ll swim 50 laps a day in a lovely pool in a local indoor swim club.

I’ll be able to draw and will paint both with watercolor and oil paints.

I will play the piano.

My husband will play the saxophone.
