Your Face, Our Faded Love

A poem

I remember you, I do,

I react every time I see your face on television,

I reason that what we had is forgotten by you,

I reach into the memories of us,

I recitative the events in a trilling voice as

I realize it’s not over for me.

I recite all the reasons why I should forget you, and

I reset my thoughts to exclude you but as

I rest on the bed, you come roaring back.

I refine what went wrong to blame you as

I rebel against my own part in it.

I reconcile the relationship so

I reawaken the love.
